Payment
We take Interac e-Transfer
One payment method, from any Canadian bank account, with no card fees and no third party between us. You order first, we confirm the delivery cost, and only then do you send anything.
The order of events, so there are no surprises
- You place the order. No payment is taken and none is owed. There is no card form, because we never handle card details.
- You message us on WhatsApp at +1 672-203-4941 with your order number. The button on your confirmation page and in your confirmation email writes the message for you.
- We confirm stock and the exact delivery cost to your address. See delivery for why that cannot be quoted up front on a crated 80 kg item.
- We send you the e-Transfer details for your order, privately.
- You send the transfer and we ship, with tracking.
Do not send money before step 4. If you send a transfer to an address you found anywhere other than directly from us in that conversation, we have not received it and we cannot recover it.
Why no e-Transfer address appears on this website
Deliberately. A payment address published on a web page gets scraped, and the scam that follows is someone impersonating the shop and collecting transfers meant for us. So the address only ever reaches you inside your own conversation with us, attached to your own order number.
If you see a Rooftop Tents Canada e-Transfer address on a page, in a search result, or in a message that did not come from +1 672-203-4941, it is not ours.
Bank limits, which matter on a tent
Most Canadian banks cap Interac e-Transfer at around $3,000 per day and $10,000 per week, and some default lower until you raise the limit in online banking. A hard-shell tent can sit right on that line.
If your order is above your limit, two things work and both are fine with us: send it as two transfers on consecutive days, or raise your limit in your banking app first. Tell us which and we will hold your order and your stock either way.
What we do not take, and why
- Cards. Not yet. When card payment is available this page will say so; we are not going to list a method that does not work.
- Cash on delivery. A freight driver cannot collect $3,000 at your door, and no carrier will do it on a crated item.
- Cheques. They clear slowly and the order would sit unshipped for a week.
Tax and your receipt
Prices are shown before tax. GST, HST, PST or QST is added at checkout at the rate for the province we are shipping to, which is how it works for goods shipped across provincial lines. Your receipt itemises it, so a business purchase has what it needs.
Questions about an order, a limit or a receipt go to the same WhatsApp number. It is a person, not a bot.
