Delivery across Canada
We quote your delivery before you pay a cent
A hard-shell roof top tent is a crated 70–80 kg freight item, not a parcel. Nobody can price that from a postcode, so we don’t pretend to. You order, we confirm the exact cost, and only then do you pay.
How it works
- Place your order. Nothing is charged and nothing is owed. Delivery shows as cost confirmed on WhatsApp before you pay, because at that point it genuinely is not known.
- Message us on WhatsApp at +1 672-203-4941 with your order number. There is a button on your order confirmation and in your confirmation email that fills the message in for you.
- We confirm two things: that the item is in stock, and the exact delivery cost and transit time to your address.
- If you are happy, we send the Interac e-Transfer details. If you are not, the order is cancelled and you have paid nothing.
- We ship once the transfer arrives and send you the tracking.
Most shops either bury oversize freight in the small print or advertise “free shipping” that excludes every item you came for. We would rather tell you the number.
Why we don’t publish a flat rate
Because for this product it would be a guess, and the guess would be wrong in one of two directions. Either we pad it, and you pay for freight you didn’t use, or we underprice it and the order gets cancelled after you’ve paid.
What actually drives the cost on a crated 80 kg item:
- Where you are. A city address on a major freight lane is a different number from a rural road, and the gap is large.
- Whether a truck can get to you. Residential delivery on an oversize item sometimes needs a liftgate or a terminal pickup.
- What you ordered. Parcel-shipped items — truck-bed tents, SUV tents, crossbars, accessories — cost a fraction of a crated tent and often ship within days.
Parcel items are different
Most of the catalogue is not freight. Truck bed tents (15–30 kg), SUV and car tents (8–20 kg), crossbars and accessories all travel as ordinary parcels. We confirm those costs the same way, but expect them to be modest and quick.
Before your tent arrives
Two things worth knowing, because they are easier to arrange before than after.
- You will want a second person. A hard shell is 40–80 kg and awkward rather than heavy. Two people and twenty minutes is the normal install.
- Check your roof load first. This is the one thing that cannot be fixed on delivery day. We publish the dynamic roof load by vehicle, with the manufacturer’s source recorded, and we say so plainly when a manufacturer publishes nothing.
Damage in transit
Inspect the crate before you sign. If there is visible damage, note it on the delivery paperwork and photograph it before the driver leaves — that single step is the difference between a straightforward replacement and a long argument with a carrier.
If something arrives damaged, faulty or not what you ordered, we pay the return freight and we sort it out. That is set out in full on our returns and warranty page, including who pays when you simply change your mind, because on a 70 kg item that is a real number and you deserve to see it before you buy.
Delivery, province by province
What changes across a provincial border is not just the distance: a ferry sailing, a bridge toll charged only on the way out, a winter road that exists from December to April, or no road at all. There is a page for each province with the transport picture, the public-land camping rule and the freezing-night counts for that province — all thirteen are here.
