What we collect, and what we never see
We need a name, an address and a phone number to put a crated tent on a truck. We never see your card or your banking credentials, because this store never asks for them.
Before launch. Our registered business name, street address and GST/HST number will appear here before this store opens for orders. Until then the fastest way to reach a person is WhatsApp on +1 672-203-4941.
The short version
We collect what we need to send you a roof top tent and nothing else. We never see your card or banking details, because we are paid by Interac e-Transfer directly between banks. We do not sell your information to anyone.
What we collect, and why
- Order details — your name, delivery address, email and phone number. We need these to ship the item and reach you if something changes.
- Your WhatsApp messages with us — because that is how we confirm availability and send payment requests. These sit in WhatsApp, which is operated by Meta under its own privacy terms.
- Basic website data — pages viewed and the technical information your browser sends, used to keep the site working.
We do not collect card numbers, bank account numbers or e-Transfer security answers. An Interac e-Transfer moves between your bank and ours; the details stay with the banks.
Who else sees it
- Our web host, which stores the site and its orders.
- The freight carrier delivering your order — name, address and phone, which is what a delivery needs.
- Meta, if you choose to contact us on WhatsApp.
That is the whole list. No advertising networks, no data brokers, no selling of customer lists.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept as long as Canadian tax and business records law requires. Enquiries that do not become orders are kept only as long as they are useful, and deleted on request.
Your rights
Under Canada’s PIPEDA, and under Québec’s Law 25 if you are in Québec, you may ask us what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be deleted where we are not required to keep it, and withdraw consent for anything that is not needed to complete an order you have placed.
Write to support@rooftoptentscanada.ca, or ask on WhatsApp at +1 672-203-4941. We will respond within thirty days, which is the period the law sets. Email is the better route for a request like this, because it gives both of us a dated written record of what was asked and what we did.
Cookies
The site uses the cookies WooCommerce needs to remember your cart and keep you logged in while you order. We do not run advertising or cross-site tracking cookies on this store.
